DollarFI Privacy Policy
DollarFI — a product of The FI Couple LLC
Last updated: August 14, 2026
1. Overview
At DollarFI, we believe in transparency about our data practices. In this Privacy Policy ("Policy"), we strive to comprehensively explain how we at The FI Couple LLC ("DollarFI," "we," "our," or "us") collect, use, and disclose information through our websites and applications that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").
DollarFI is committed to protecting your privacy. By using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your Financial Information — the financial data you enter or connect, such as your accounts, transactions, balances, budgets and goals — and this information is never used to generate or influence advertising.
DollarFI is not a bank or financial institution. We do not hold your funds or move money.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
We collect information that you provide when you use the Services or otherwise communicate with us. For example, when you:
- Create an account, we collect contact and registration information, such as your name and email address.
- Use the Services, we collect information that you enter, upload, or provide, including financial information such as your income, expenses, assets, liabilities, budgets, goals, and net worth ("Financial Information").
- Connect a financial institution, we collect the account and transaction information described in Section 2.B.
- Post in the HelloFI community, we collect the content of your posts, comments and replies, the display name and avatar you choose, and any photographs you upload. If you report or block another member, we keep a record of that report or block.
- Take part in community courses, lessons or challenges, we collect your progress and participation.
- Use Ask FI, we collect and store the questions you ask and the responses generated, so that your conversation history is available to you in the app.
- Claim a physical reward, such as the Founding Wealth Builder badge, we collect the name and postal address (street, city, state and ZIP) we need to ship it to you.
- Send us feedback, we collect the note you write and the screen you sent it from.
- Contact us with questions, comments, or for customer service, we collect contact information, such as your name and email address, as well as any information you provide in connection with your outreach.
B. Information from Financial Data Sources
We collect information about you when you connect your DollarFI account to financial institutions and other third-party data sources ("Financial Data Sources"). To sync information from these Financial Data Sources, we will collect your Financial Information including your account names and types, account balances, and transaction history including amounts, dates, merchants and categories.
Bank connections are established through Stripe Financial Connections. You enter your bank credentials directly into Stripe's interface. We never receive, see, or store your bank login credentials. By connecting a Financial Data Source, you agree to that provider's terms and privacy policy.
C. Automatically Collected Information
We automatically receive and store certain information about the device you use to access the Services:
- Device information — device name and type, operating system name and version, app name, version and build number, screen dimensions, language setting and time zone. This information is attached automatically to each analytics event described below, and is also recorded when you send us feedback.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, a token identifying your device so we can deliver them.
- Usage information — the screens and features of the Services you use and the actions you take within them, such as opening the app, viewing the paywall, starting a subscription, asking Ask FI a question, or creating a community post. These events are linked to your account.
- Technical information — our service providers process your IP address as a normal part of delivering and securing the Services.
D. Information from Other Sources
We also obtain information from other sources, like payment vendors who provide us with payment or subscription status information. Specifically, Stripe provides subscription and payment status for web purchases, and RevenueCat provides subscription status for purchases made through the Apple App Store. We do not receive your full payment card number.
E. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your precise location or GPS coordinates. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not collect an advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not collect crash or diagnostic telemetry.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information in a variety of ways to provide the Services and to operate our business. In particular, we may use your information to:
- provide the information and Services you request;
- display your financial data, and calculate insights such as net worth, cash flow, savings rate, and your estimated financial freedom date;
- sync and categorise transactions from Financial Data Sources you have connected;
- operate the HelloFI community, including displaying your posts and notifying you when another member mentions you;
- provide you with effective customer service;
- engage in transactions with you, including contacting you about your account, billing you for the Services, and processing payments;
- contact you with operational information and notices related to your use of the Services;
- analyze use of the Services and improve the content, functionality and usability of the Services;
- secure the Services and detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- comply with any procedures, laws, and regulations; and
- establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights, including the enforcement of our Terms of Service.
Aggregate/De-Identified Information. We may aggregate and/or de-identify any information collected through the Services so that such information can no longer be linked to you or your device ("Aggregate/De-Identified Information"). We may use Aggregate/De-Identified Information for any purpose. Although we implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or processing is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
4. Ask FI and Artificial Intelligence
We use artificial intelligence to power Ask FI, the feature that generates observations about your finances.
When you ask Ask FI a question, or the Services generate an insight for you, we send your question together with a summary of your financial data in the Services — such as income, spending, budgets, net worth, goals, and progress figures — to a third-party artificial intelligence provider, which processes it to generate the response. This summary never includes your bank login credentials, and we never transmit your account or routing numbers.
Your data is not used to train AI models. We do not use your information to train artificial intelligence models. When our vendors use artificial intelligence to process your information, they do not train their artificial intelligence models with your information.
Our Services do not involve any automated decision-making processes that would affect you personally, including profiling. While AI may be used to offer personalised content, all such features are intended to enhance your experience and are not used to make automated decisions or judgments about you.
We store your conversations. The questions you ask Ask FI and the responses it generates are saved to your account so that your history is available to you in the app. They are deleted when you delete your account.
Artificial intelligence can be wrong. Nothing Ask FI produces is financial advice. See our Terms of Service for more. We may change the third-party artificial intelligence provider used to operate Ask FI from time to time without prior notice.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
To collect the information in the "Automatically Collected Information" section above, we and our vendors may use web server logs, cookies, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies.
A web server log is a file where website activity is stored. An SDK is a set of tools and/or code that we embed in our applications and software to allow third parties to collect information about how users interact with the Services. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer or mobile device when you use the Services, that enables us to recognise your browser, store your preferences and settings, and assist with security and administrative functions.
We use cookies and local storage on our website to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Please note that you can change your settings to notify you when a cookie is being set or updated, or to block cookies altogether. Please consult the "Help" section of your browser for more information. Please note that by blocking, disabling, or managing any or all cookies, you may not have access to certain features or offerings of the Services.
6. Analytics and Advertising
We use a third-party product-analytics service, PostHog, to understand how members use the Services so we can improve them. PostHog receives a record of the actions you take in the app — such as which screens you view and which features you use — linked to your account identifier and email address. Financial amounts, transaction details and the content of your posts are not sent to PostHog; the analytics client strips any property that is not on a fixed allowlist before sending.
We do not advertise to you, and we do not sell your information. We do not use advertising networks, we do not participate in interest-based or cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. How We Disclose Your Information
We do not share your Financial Information with (1) other companies for joint marketing purposes; or (2) any third parties so they can market to you. We may disclose or transfer information collected from and about you in the following circumstances:
- Vendors. We may share information with select third parties who provide services to us, such as hosting, customer service, interfacing with Financial Data Sources, analytics, and other similar services. The vendors we use are listed in Section 8.
- Financial Data Sources. We may disclose information with the Financial Data Sources to help establish or maintain an integration you have chosen to make.
- Other Users of this Service or the Public. To the extent that you post content in publicly-accessible parts of the Services, such as the HelloFI community, such content and information can be read, collected, and used by others with permission to view it.
- Comply with Laws and Protect Our Rights and the Rights of Others. We may disclose your information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate to: comply with applicable law and legal processes; respond to requests from public and government authorities; enforce our Terms of Service; protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you, or others; and allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
- Corporate Transactions. We reserve the right to transfer your information to vendors, advisors, potential transactional partners, or other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation, or completion of a corporate transaction in which we are acquired by or merged with another company or we sell, liquidate, or transfer all or a portion of our assets.
- With Your Consent or At Your Direction. We may share information with third parties when you direct us to do so or if you have consented to additional sharing of your information.

9. How We Protect Your Information
We implement a variety of security safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest, and authentication-based access controls so that only you can access your data. However, no method or transmission over the internet or electronic system is completely secure, so there is no guarantee that such data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed in connection with a breach of our physical, technical, organizational, or managerial safeguards.
When you create an account, you may be prompted to create a username and password. If you create an account with us, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for any activity that occurs under your account. We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the confidentiality of your password. We urge you to change your passwords often, use a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you are using a secure browser. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure or if you suspect someone else is using your account, please let us know immediately by contacting us as indicated in the "Contact Information" section below.
10. Retention of Information
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to comply with applicable legal obligations. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to resolve disputes, protect DollarFI and our users, and enforce our agreements. Note that you can request deletion of your information at any time by following the steps in the "Your Rights and Choices" section of this Privacy Policy.
The length of time we retain particular categories of personal information is determined based on whether it is sufficient to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including to satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting requirements, establish or defend legal claims, enforce our agreements, resolve disputes or fraud prevention, or as otherwise permitted under applicable law.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the purposes for which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, and our legitimate business needs.
11. Deleting Your Account
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app. When you do:
- Your account and associated personal information will be deleted or de-identified, except to the extent we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, backup, or other legitimate business purposes. Certain information may also remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary course of business.
- Any connected financial institutions are disconnected, and we stop retrieving new data from them.
- Any active subscription billed by us is cancelled. Subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store must be cancelled separately in your App Store settings.
- Posts and comments you made in the HelloFI community are not deleted. Removing them would break shared conversations and orphan other members' replies. Instead, they remain in the community with your authorship anonymised. If you want a specific post or comment removed, contact us.
- We keep one record of the deletion itself — your account identifier and the date it was deleted. We need this so that a late payment notification from a payment provider cannot recreate an account you have closed. It contains no financial data and no contact details.
Deleted accounts cannot be recovered.
12. Third Party Links and Features
The Services may contain links, banners, or widgets to third-party sites, apps, services, and plug-ins, including Financial Data Sources. We may also incorporate third-party software (including open source software) in the Services.
These links and features are provided for your reference and convenience only and do not imply any endorsement of information provided through these third-party links and features, nor any association with their operators. DollarFI is not responsible for the practices of such third parties. Any information you provide to third parties on their websites or services is covered under their privacy and data collection policies, and is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We urge you to read the privacy and security policies of these third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third parties.
13. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to anyone under 18 years of age.
- Our Terms of Service require that you be at least 18 years old to use the Services. We do not
knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information (as defined by the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) from children under 13 years of age. If you believe that we might have any such information from a child, please contact us as described at the end of this Privacy Policy. If we learn that we have collected any personal information from a child under 13, or that an account has been opened by anyone under 18, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the account.
14. Your Rights and Choices
Rights Regarding Your Personal Information. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to make certain requests regarding your "personal information" or "personal data" (collectively referred to herein as "personal information"). Specifically, residents of certain US states (currently including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia) may have the right to ask us to:
- Inform you about the categories of personal information we collect or disclose about you; the categories of sources of such information; the business or commercial purpose for collecting your personal information; and the categories of third parties with whom we disclose personal information.
- Provide you access to and/or a copy of certain personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update personal information we hold about you.
- Delete certain personal information we have about you.
- Oregon and Minnesota residents only: Provide you with a list of specific third parties which we disclose your personal information or any consumers' personal information to.
As provided in applicable law, you also have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
Please note that certain information may be exempt from such requests under applicable law. For example, we need to retain certain information in order to provide our services to you. We also need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include verifying your name and email address. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may be permitted to designate an authorized agent to submit certain requests on your behalf. In order for an authorized agent to be verified, you must provide the authorized agent with signed, written permission to make such requests or a power of attorney.
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to appeal our decision to deny your request. If we deny your request, we will provide you with information on how to appeal the decision in our communications with you.
Exercising your rights in the app. You can do most of this yourself without contacting us: view and correct your data in the app, disconnect any linked financial institution at any time, export your data, and delete your account from Settings → Delete Account. For anything else, email us at info@theficouple.com.
Marketing Communications. You may instruct us not to contact you by email regarding products, services, promotions and special events by contacting us using the information below, or by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in any promotional email you receive from us. Please note that you cannot opt out of transactional or service-related messages about your account.
Push Notifications. You can turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings, or in the notification preferences within the app.
Do not track. Some Internet browsers may be configured to send "Do Not Track" signals to the online services that you visit. We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" or similar signals except where we expressly indicate otherwise. To find out more about "Do Not Track," please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.
Declining to provide information. We need to collect personal information to provide certain services. If you do not provide the information we identify as required or mandatory, we may not be able to provide those services.
15. Notice to California Residents
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended ("CCPA") requires us to disclose the following.
Categories of personal information we collect. Identifiers (such as name, email address, postal address where you have claimed a physical reward, account identifier and device push token); commercial information (subscription and purchase history); financial information (account balances, transactions, and the financial details you enter); internet or other electronic network activity information (how you use the Services); and audio, electronic, visual or similar information (photographs you upload). We collect these from you directly, from Financial Data Sources you connect, and from our payment and analytics vendors.
Sensitive personal information. Some of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy may be considered sensitive under applicable laws — in particular your financial account information. We do not use sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. We will process sensitive personal information only as described in this Privacy Policy and will request your consent to collect or process your sensitive personal information when we legally are required to do so. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you a right to limit that use under the CCPA.
Purposes. As described in Section 3 of this Privacy Policy.
Categories disclosed for a business purpose. All of the above categories may be disclosed to the vendors listed in Section 8 for the purposes described in Section 7.
We do not sell or share your personal information. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, as those terms are defined by the CCPA, including for purposes of cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.
Your privacy rights. If you're a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA.
- Right to know. You can request information about the categories of personal information that we have collected; the categories of sources from which we collected personal information; the business or commercial purpose for collecting, sharing and/or selling personal information; the categories of any personal information that we sold or disclosed for a business purpose; and the categories of any third parties with whom personal information was sold, shared or disclosed for a business purpose.
- Right to access. You can request a copy of certain personal information that we have collected about you.
- Right to deletion. You can request that we delete personal information that we collected from you.
- Right to correction. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we have collected about you.
- Right to opt-out. You can request to opt-out of disclosures of your personal information that constitute "selling" or "sharing" of your personal information as defined in the CCPA.
- Nondiscrimination. You are entitled to exercise the rights described above free from discrimination as prohibited by the CCPA.
You may submit requests to exercise your right to know, access, deletion and correction by emailing info@theficouple.com. The rights described above are not absolute, and in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law. We cannot process your request if you do not provide us with sufficient detail to allow us to understand and respond to it.
Identity verification. We need to verify your identity to process your requests to exercise your rights to know, access, deletion, and correction, and we reserve the right to confirm your California residency. To verify your identity, we may require you to log into your DollarFI account if you have one, provide identifiers we can match against information we may have collected from you previously, or confirm your request using the email address used to make the request.
Authorized agents. Your authorized agent may make a request on your behalf upon our verification of the agent's identity and our receipt of a copy of a valid power of attorney given to your authorized agent pursuant to applicable state law. If you have not provided your agent with such a power of attorney, we may ask you and/or your agent to take additional steps permitted by law to verify that your request is authorized.
16. Notice to Nevada Residents
Certain Nevada consumers may opt out of the sale of "personally identifiable information" for "monetary consideration," as defined under Nevada law, to a person for that person to license or sell such information to others. We do not engage in such activity; however, if you are a Nevada resident who has purchased goods or services from us, you may submit a request to opt out of any future sales under Nevada law by contacting us as detailed in the "Contact Information" section below. Please note we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the authenticity of the request.
17. Where We Operate
The Services are operated from the United States and are intended only for users in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States and choose to use the Services or provide information to us, you acknowledge and understand that your information will be transferred, processed, and stored in the United States, as it is necessary to provide the Services and perform the Terms of Service.
18. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in the law, our data collection and use practices, the features of our Services, or advances in technology. We will make the revised Privacy Policy accessible through use of the Services, so you should review the Privacy Policy periodically. You can know if the Privacy Policy has changed since the last time you reviewed it by checking the "Last Updated" date included at the beginning of the document. If we make a material change to the Policy, we will provide you with notice in accordance with legal requirements. Your use of the Services following any such change constitutes your agreement that all information collected from or about you after the revised Privacy Policy is posted will be subject to the terms of the revised Privacy Policy.
